What Is "Social Engineering"?

Social engineering is to steal important personal information such as password on the
network by asking,listening in, or peeking user/owner of the network.

one example is asking. July 1998 in the USA, a fourteen-year-old boy hacked into
the Fox affiliate site and rewrite the documents inside the company.he just called to the Fox affiliate's ISP and asked to reset the password. Operator
didn't check his information and just did it according to his offer. As a result, he
hucked the site and stopped the site about 15 hours.
this is one of typical "social engineering".

If the boy abused the website and got personal information from people who used
the Fox affiliate site by rewriting the website, the problem got more larger than it.

What I Want To Learn about Computers

There are many things that I want to know and learn. I can use many tools, and my skill is basically enough to use for daily life and college for some writing assignments. However, I want to use internet, iTunes, Quick Timez, Microsoft office more skillfully than now and I want to be able to fix computer programs when it is broken.
In this class, I want to develop my computer skills not only for my hobby, but also for the business, for my future.
Though I use internet everyday and word for assignments, I don't understand the system of computer and internet; how they work, for example.
I hope to understand them and get ready to get some lisence of computer either in English or Japanese.

My History with Computers

When I was a junior high school student, I started to use computer.
I used computer as a game soft.
In those says, I had a computer, which was Windows 98, so it was not useful and clever one.
I used to play computer games like tetoris.
Before I entered high school, I bought my new note-PC which was Windows ME.
I use it still now and my parents gave me another one, Windows XP, desktop.
From then, I began to use internet and many tools like Microsoft Office, Windows Media Player, Itunes, and so on.
The most interesting tool for me was messanger.
I often use MSN messanger to contact friends.
I bought mic and web camera then I can contact even friends who live in overseas without any money.
Last year I stayed in England to study Engligh then I got some friends there, some of them were from Italy, German, and Spain.
I still talk to them on my MSN messanger.
In this summer, one of them came to Japan for travel.
Because I got informations about it ( He told me about it) on MSN, I could went where he stayed in Japan and we could meet up.
I love using computers, especially the internet.
Internet gives us a lot of information, makes our life comfortable and easy to connect around the world.
